Cool. Well I guess I am contradicting myself in your eyes. I can live with that. I enjoy Christmas as an athiest. I have alot of fun being around family and friends and eating great food… And not once thinking about God.
lol apparently you don’t know what its like to be an atheist and haven’t walked a mile in any ones shoes who is, you’re perspective is biased and i can promise to you that christians do more oppressing than anyone.
@gtas123 An atheist is simply someone who doesn’t believe in a god. You can celebrate your God on Christmas and an atheist can celebrate real world friends, family, presents, tradition etc.
Do you celebrate Halloween? Are you aware of it’s Pagan origins?
You can celebrate a religious holiday without celebrating the religion. Most holidays have secular traditions blended in with them that don’t require religious faith to enjoy.
Most of your ‘Christian’ holidays are Pagan in origin.
If you took all pagen things out of Chirstmas… you wouldnt have a christamas AT ALL! Christamas was derived and stolen from pagen holidays
greek and russian traditions hell Santa kinda became the devil there. Education. Its a good thing.
show me where in the bible it says to give gifts on December 25th and i will give you all the money in the world, and by how frequently you use ‘contradict” i’m thinking its the biggest word you know
No.. If you took out all the pagan things about it, it would just be a christain holiday.. Theres no Jesus in your christamas? That doesnt matter, because your still contradicting yourself by celebrating it the pagan way.
Lol.. The bible doesnt say that you CANT DO IT.. But I admit I do contradict myself as I do have a christmas tree.. But you contradict yourself EVEN MORE.. Since Christmas itself is a religous holiday.. Pagan or not.
if you a christian who gets or gives gifts on Christmas then you contradict you belief…also the USA government does not in anyway shape or form consider christmas a religious holiday
@gtas123 Please tell me how an atheist contradicts themselves by celebrating a day that originated from the winter solstice. There’s no Jesus in my Christmas celebration. If you took out all the Pagan and secular things out of Christmas, it would be just another day like All Saints Day, which goes almost unnoticed.
I would say that Christians with Christmas trees contradict their own bible.
Do you REALLY think religous people bash atheism over the media, in books, or on youtube? NO.. Atheiss bash ANYONE that doesnt believe in atheism.. THEY are the only ones you tard
if you’re a true christian, mormon, atheist, whatever! you shouldnt be bashing on other religions or athiests. so get over the fact the these people don’t agree with whatever you think or believe in, and get on with your lives (: just sayin’
I spent 10 seconds researching the so called media watchdog, the Culture and Media Institute and found out that they are a conservative thinktank promoting “traditional american values” and making sure that conservatives have a voice in the modern media.
Which is funny, because coming from an english liberal point of view, I honestly see very few liberal or atheist stories on american network news .
@megirlyouboy
I saw zeitgeist years ago. Sounds like you was completely sold on everything they told you.
Whereas I don’t think its that simple.
Eg. According to Stephen Hawkin, the universe is expanding, planets becoming further apart, which probably means at one time everything was closer & closer, maybe 1 thing.
You can have your theories for what caused the laws of physics etcetc etc before the big bang, and I can have mine!
I dnt understand this.
What, are they supposed to bash atheists every now & again to make it even?Do they have to report on that is negative?
This whole idea that you have to do 50%+ve, 50%-ve stories on a group to make it even is ridiculous.Theyr supposed to report what happens.Whether reality reflects the %+ve stories is what matters!
If atheists had been goin around ruining ppls’ lives & the news didnt report it, mayb there’d be a point here but I’ve see no evidence of that.
@mississhippy Again – I am not celebrating any specific event! The spirit of the holiday for me is just having fun and letting go of everyday cares. I am not a PagAn, I am an atheist. Apparantly your narrow mind cannot grasp the concept of NO RELIGIOUS BELIEF, so I’ll just stop explaining.

Thanks God the media recognize the sign of the times before those living in a box do. The “culture” institute is most probably run by religiously impregnated people who speak “modern” but think “passé”.

There is nothing to grasp, don’t over-estimate yourself.
You’re like the Jehovah’s Witness who still goes to the work’s Christmas dinner!
