can you tell me what temp your getting at the focal point? i need the temp for a new LARGE stirling engine. im trying to decide between parabolic or freshnel…(i think parabolic is more efficient)

Why are you bothering with solar power, Beamie? I thought that the SEG was going to satisfy all energy needs. Come on, you have to demonstrate 100% faith in the Searl scam, or people will talk.
You don’t even need to buy a pricey heliostat, with the proper knowledge and training you can make one thats just hardware. It won’t follow the sun exactly, but it will more-or-less point at it for whatever period of time.
For engineers it would make an interesting distraction on their free time.
just for those who DONT get it, FREE energy means, that you WONT have to pay monthly bills for your regular electric consume, it doesnt mean something from nothing, or whatever mumbo-jumbo you like to verbally fight for or against…

If these fresnel lenses are so great why we still using photovoltaic cells? Maybe cos they still the most efficient source of solar energy collection. How bout we concentrate on redesigning the battery, considering its a over 100 year old design.

Are there restrictions on how close the cold and hot sides have to be to each other? I’m sure there would be some heat lost, but if you put the hot side on your roof, the cold side in your water well or in the ground and connect them by an insulated pipe, you could get a wild temperature differential with which to run your motor.
the ones that i saw produce ALOT more power..but they use concentrated like…you tube first isreal solar farm…do you have a link to the ones your talking about?
No they need only ordinary sunlight, just like other panels. THe difference is in the choice of materials comprising the panels, and their Geometry. Solar is now competetive with all forms of energy, and with bakns of ultracaps or storage-cells, makes the GRID obsolete.

You sir, are an idiot.
1. The energy is coming from the sun, genius. Not ‘nothing’.
2. The highest efficiency ever gained from solar panels is 41%. Commercial quality yields 10-15%.
The rest of that energy becomes heat. Solar thermal energy uses that 100% of energy as heat rather than trying to convert it directly into energy.
Solar thermal is much more efficient, it just has to be harnessed correctly.

use the heat of direct sunlight + heatpumps . as cold potential the coolness of an endothermic saline solution reaction.

sorry..i didnt fully read your post, i saw 75% and thought you meant 75% effiecient, not 65% more power than currently availbile…
the problem with the israeli panels is you need the giant mirrors to concentrate the light.
