I don’t have a problem with public myths until they start causing harm to others. Chrisitianity should be denouncing the wars in Iraq and Afghanastan. Why is the Pope so silent? This isn’t leadership by Christians. No vocal outcry shows approval of the wars. Live for peace, not religion.

This is only because you, and people like you find it necessary to attribute all your personal success to religion. I find it quite sad. It doesn’t mean that the religion is really doing any excellent. Every time an athlete points at god when he makes a touchdown, doesn’t mean that religion has done excellent… Sorry to burst that bubble.
If history makes it clear, then why does a movie like “The God Who Wasn’t There” exist (the cause of the blasphemy challenge” which makes it VERY clear, that History doesn’t prove Jesus at all… but may be proving Horus or Dionysys, since they came first. If you believe that the savior is vital, then your entire religion is a sham to what the greeks and egyptians made first.

i would get you source for that textbook i referred to, but i really cant find it, i dont own it. there are so many books called world religions lol
in whole, “go along with me here” IF my view was really right and when people got saved i reckon Christianity has done a lot of excellent, not to mention the help and physical relief for people. i guess this is all biased though cause i have been on mission trips and seen these things, but i dont reckon it makes them untrue.
so He is either a lunatic claiming to be God, or really the Holy Son of God. they are excellent questions, but 2/3 of world arn’t christians. i dont know about that fact. i just took a religion course and the recent world religion book has atheism at 2% of the world christian at the most well loved and islam as the second. so i dont know how credible that is. religion does more harm than excellent, i dont know how right that is. man’s use for religion has been very evil.
well places with out a god might not place their faith or worship a government but they will certainly worship other things. It is human nature to worship. what we worship is up to the individual. as you can tell i am a christian, and these are my views so i dont want to reflect on all the other christians. but i will be straight up with you just as there is no solid evidence of God existing or NOT existing. history makes it clear that Jesus did live.
As a Christian, it is hard to clarify all this in only 500 characters. Let me say this, Im not a Christian bc Im frightened of hell, theres a relationship between you and Christ which is usually missed in topic of convo. I just want to say I like all you guys and am praying for you all. take care!

I generally believe it’s possible you might not be lying about being an atheist after looking at your videos. But, I reckon the fact that you somehow reckon that Christians and Jews don’t have the same capacity for violence that the Muslims do, makes you a very ignorant Atheist. You get points for being an Economic Conservative, but you lose them for being a social conservative. When you REALLY stop supporting violence, I’ll be with you.

Standing up against Violent beliefs Religious or otherwise is understandable but spitting in the face of anothers beliefs most definately does not show your intellectual superiority it simply smacks of immaturity in the form of a childish need to rebell!
Sorry that didn’t come out right. I was speaking in general. E.g. When people argue validity of their holy book it is not reasonable to say it is valid by saying that their holy book says so or their priest says so. Bring evidence to support it is what I’m saying. I am also agnostic and use scripture when nothing else gets through to people

*sigh* You brought up such excellent arguments tocardx. But unfortunately most of the answers argue nothing instead there are insults. When debating please argue rationally do not quote scripture. @sqdspitz-If there is no evil than there can be no excellent. You need to compare it to something. Besides it’s all a matter of perception. What is excellent to some is evil to others. Some people go as far as saying god has your whole life plotted. Freewill? He/she/it gave us the ability to choose at our own peril.

1: God didn’t make evil man made it.
2: He doesn’t force belief he gave us the ability to choose.
3: If you were to study the bible along with history you would know why God placed Jesus on earth.

I live in Alberta It is in the centre of CANADA. The oil in Alberta can only be reached by drilling into ocean reefs. I have seen leaves and ocean life come up over the shale shaker. Can you clarify to me how an ocean bed is below Alberta Canada?
