Truman (A liberal) dropped atomic bombs on Japan in part to wave a warning finger at the Soviet Union. Truman got the U.S. involved in Korea and killed 1 million Chinese communists. JFK ( A liberal ) got America involved in Vietnam. The anti-communist torch was passed to LBJ ( a liberal) who killed 600, 000 North Vietnamese communists. Then we have Carter ( a liberal) who sent the CIA into Afganistan to wage economically crippling war against the USSR which resulted in its collapse.
The cotton gin was invented in the late 18th century. Why did it take a war and government intervention to end it more than half a century afterwards? Shouldn’t the abolitionist movement have affected free trade? Besides, why would simply having a hand run machine to pick cotton end slavery? That just meant for plantation owners that they could buy less slaves to run those contraptions.
Yah, but before it was invented, the plantation owners needed a way of making money and keeping as much profit for their selves. The solution was to buy a bunch of slaves from the east African slave trade off of the Arabs and ignore the humanity of the captors by putting them into biblically justified, generational slavery. It was also convenient to abandon it, because the public consciousness was changing to where outside observers were becoming increasingly anti-slavery.
I never said government should be run by its people. re-read what I said. I said it ran its people and that’s bead. Think about it. Government running you is a bad thing. I’m saying people should run their government, like actually vote in other people besides the two same parties. lol
the problem is that government ran it’s people. A government should just govern; not run it’s people. Communism is a form of socialism, and one that inhibits freedoms.
Slavery is not capitalism, it was slavery. Slavery, abuses and corruption happens in capitalist and socialist societies.
Wars were fought and slaves were freed.
The invention of the cotton gin is capitalism- necessity is the mother of all invention.
One could argue that slavery was an example of the free market gone out of control… Anyway, the problem with Communism wasn’t socialism. It was a government that ran its people and not the other way around that was the problem.
Amazing Atheist isn’t pro-marxist either. He was just calling extreme capitalists hypocrites for focusing on the all the ills of socialism but not the ills of capitalism. One could argue that slavery as an example. Socialism is not communism, and communism was not socialism. The idea of socialism was used as a false hope to trick people seeking social justice to put leaders, who positioned their selves at the front of revolutions, into the absolute control of highly centralized government.
You could also argue that monarchy’s were just free market capitalism taken the logical conclusion. Making your way to the top is like being in a big pile. The ones who can fuck everyone else the hardest makes it to the top. Its a system that rewards greed, so that’s what you get. So, they transfer their wealth to their kids and you get a king. Before the kings in Europe, it was pretty much an anrcho-capitalism. There was a void, and someone took it.
There are limitations. Some believe in the free market so much that they want to do away with private schools. In the 1800’s, the market was much more free, all or most schools were private, and as a result people were illiterate on top of slavery being legal. They also had slaves too. I mean, what do they want, privately funded police that only protect and serve the people that are rich enough to employ them? How far do they want to take it?
Many, many things wrong with your deluded opinion of capitalism. YouTube doesn’t give me enough characters to list them all. Clearly you are brainwashed by the bourgeoisie.
Capitalism works well until someone gets an extreme monopoly, then people are as screwed as they are under socialism.
You need a mix of the two for a society to work. What you ‘need’ the state should provide, what you ‘want’ can be provided by capitalism.
nope, capitalism has been in existance as long as life has existed on this planet.
now run along and figure out what you’re talking about before you make a further ass out of yourself.
The problem is Americans want to have their cake and eat it too. People want low taxes AND Medicare. I have a Republican friend who believes in smaller government but when it comes to his disabled daughter he is pissed off about the lack of services the local school district provides.
Truth is Americans want socialism but don’t want to pay for it.
that wasn’t an ad hominem. An ad hominem is a fallacy. This isn’t a fallacy because Hitler was a socialist, a dictator if you will. The welfare of the Germans was dependant on the destruction of the Jews.
Or did you conveniently forget that?

Without “greed” cavemen couldn’t eat until they competed with their meals or competed for their meals.
It’s nature. Sorry you can’t handle it. you might want to take courses on it and stop sniffing glue.

no because gravity is a scientific fact
and capitalism is a system that was invented to enslave and exploite the proletariat.
February 21st, 2010 at 9:36 am
that’s like saying gravity fails.

“i don’t want to see anyone’s comments hidden by poor ratings either. ”
You obviously also don’t want your own videos buried either. Be a man and let your video get rated.

I said you commited the appeal to emotion fallacy
In what way was the welfare of the Germans was dependant on the destruction of the Jews?
In what way was the destruction of Jews going to help Germany?
No jews = no problems for germany?
Is that what you are trying to say?
Isn’t that the propoganda that Joseph Goebbels used?
Isn’t this the propoganda that swayed the public into hatred of the Jews?
I haven’t conveniently forgotten anything.

You attack TJ saying he uses “ad hominems” and then you go and commit the appeal to emotion fallacy the lists of deaths associated with Hitler etc.
Hitler was anti-communist, you seem to forget that.
Stalin killed roughly half of what you claim
In WW2 the west allied with him.
Stalin is responsible for the deaths of Ukrainians, not Lenin.
With regard to Lenin to brush over the deaths caused by the “whites” in the Russian Civil War. You forget Lenin was leader after a popular revolution.
