Why does it have to be Jesus… I mean I was talking with god the other day, and said “I am sick of people following this Jesus guy. I have no idea where people got this idea that Jesus was my son, and the words in this bible aren’t mine at all. You humans have it all wrong.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA how old are you ? ga ga ga GROW UP~ one day when you realize that your selfishness and egocentric driven life aren’t that of what matters maybe you’ll find your TRUE self. Good luck pal. Keep on spreading negative words~ mainly what an Atheist does- NOT ALL THOUGH HAHA
Hello computer people- As a Christian I will pray for you. I hope you know that Jesus is reaching out to you and truly loves you. I have to tell you this although its not what the average Atheist likes to hear. Take it or leave it. If Jesus does happen to return to take his people AKA the vanishing (not the rapture) but same idea then what?. The prophecies are unfolding. The Word of God is so hard to believe but you’ll see when you die that death is not the end. Just the beginning.
Happened a similar story to me.
Me and my mom were following a guy whom was saying that HE was and still is JOHN apostle of Jesus …. after 9 months of bullcrap i decided to say the truth and say he was a false prophet.
Next thing i knew my mom was deceived even more in this crap….this false prophet made beleive to my mother that i was a son of satan and i was worshipping the devil…None of this is true tho but still y mother beleive him instead of me … Got kicked out of the house too.
hey i didnt know that this show ran in New Zealand! sweet! (i can watch it now i hope) also im not TOO surprised that he was an athiest. like, religon is basicly not all that big here- or atleast in relation to usa and other nations.
id say about- only an estimated guess from experience- 33% of us are athiest. ok odds i guess. and only about 40% are really devoted to their religous beleifs. pretty good statistics in my opinion.
I was diswoned by my mother and well my whole family because I’m not religious. But I can’t say I’m sad, I’m actually happier because I wasn’t close to my family anyway and I’m not hearing all of their religious bull crap lies. It’s a good thing in my case.
…but i want them to understand that we come to conversations with presuppositions and are not blank slates so we must widdle down commonalities in an effort to establish the origin and of our epistemology and ontology before we can get esoteric.
We are not neutral creatures, we have preconceived notions toward all and it needs to be respectfully addressed that we will approach a question differently and why, otherwise it is flippant strawman arguments and ad hominem.
That’s a loaded and bloated statement that presupposes only the atheist mindset monopolizes rationality and reason, and two that the prism by which you operate is infallible and able to discern between all other creeds.
continued-> But suddenly you find out that there is a God and he has created everything around you, he might even plan to take you and some other chosen human beings out and give them eternal life. What does it change about your perception of life? You just found out what brought it into existence, that tells nothing about the _meaning_ of your life, it might tell you that it continues in some sort of afterlife but still doesn’t tell you anything about the purpose. See what I mean?
My question to you was: what is it about the existence of a God that suddenly “gives meaning to meaning”, if you catch my drift? Let’s say that you never heard of a god, you live on an isolated island and you find that live is amazing and you gaze up in the sky every night and find yourself to be truly small and unique by the same time. You find meaning just by being able to sustain life every day and pass it to the next generation. -> continued
Atheists are searching for nothing more than a world of rational thinkers. Atheists accept the fact that their is no”meaning” of life. There is just life. Get over it!
The point was to show atheism doesn’t operate from a vacuum of neutrality and it claims its creeds and presuppositions better than any other, ironic since that is one of the chief claims many atheists make against theists.
I’m glad you recognize the existence of presuppositions because so many are alarmingly blind to the fact and take artificial paradigms at face value as absolute infallible truth.
Why do your opinions matter now? They don’t, they’re just by-products of chemical reactions that occurred by flukish happenstance to align in a pristinely orderly and methodical way to create an organism.
Arguing is an exercise in futility if this is true as there is nothing to gain from our accidental existence, if meaning is something relative to personal whims then why are atheists searching for meaning? What is reason but an artificial crutch and what is truth but a fiction? All is vanity.
how would the excistence of a god give you and your opinions value or meaning all of a sudden? you need some higher power to care about you? I really think you are the one who feels insignificant inside after all – please don’t, you are perfectly unique just by the fact that you are here. cheer up and forget about this god figure
have a nice day!
With no presuppositions one cannot assert anything either, so make a point, stick by it and STFU! Stop dancing with fear on the fence and grow some balls!
“i must insist that the statement there is no god or that there is god is a presupposition as it effects the lens by which you view the world as a whole.”

it depends on who this god is, is he the deist god, the christian god, the pagan gods.
See one of the hold ups in fruitful dialogue with anyone about atheism or theism is that to many platitudes and generalities are operated with.
I’m willing to stand with an atheist in rebuking most religion, although i find an agnostic to be more intellectually honest position for the skeptic…

That is the nihilism and post modern conclusion for certain, if relativism is permitted authority.

When I say “Atheists” I mean me, for I cannot speak for all atheists. I find it odd that Speeg can.

Please go read your philosophy books amongst yourself! Hell, we don’t even really exist and no arguement is valid.

Nor that he doesn’t so you’re back to presuppositions.

“i must insist that the statement there is no god or that there is god is a presupposition as it effects the lens by which you view the world as a whole.”
There is no evidence that any god exists.
